Avoyelles Parish has been identified in the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission (LHSC) Traffic
Problem Identification as a high incident area for motor vehicle fatal and serious injury crashes. In an
effort to reduce impaired driving in our area, The Bunkie Police Department, the Louisiana State
Police and the Avoyelles Parish Sheriffs Office will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint during the
week-end of January 22, 2010 weather and traffic conditions permitting, in the city limits of Bunkie.
Results of February 15, 2010 DWI
2 - No seat belt
1 – Open container
1 – No driver’s license
5 – (SFST) Standard Field Sobriety Test
1 - DWI
2 – Child Restraint
2 – Simple possession
We are asking the public to make the mature decision and to designate a sober driver. Remember,
"You drink, You drive, You lose"!
